A statement, known to the person stating it to be false. That is the case here. Barbara Lubin claimed to have heard the story first hand. Enhancing the credibility of the story by doing so. She later confessed that she had heard it third hand. Barbara Lubin sent an e-mail, which was received by her supporters and by me when I e-mailed a question about the story to mecaforepeace.com. Note, not the mealy-mouthed "unconfirmed" e-mail, an actual, no kidding "I lied" e-mail. Though without the guts to put it explicitly. She just told a story that directly contradicts her earlier lie. Oh, and since she would have to have been hearing the story from a dead person for her earlier story to be true, I think it is safe to say that she lied. Her e-mail made it clear that not only had she lied and spread this blood libel, but that she sees nothing wrong with lying about atrocities. She said (among other things) "I want to make clear this is not an apology, but an explanation of what happened." Is your story confirmed? 100%? Of course, that is probably still a distortion of the "evacuate now, the area is about the become a war zone" calls that the Israelis made to many Palestinian civilians in the war zones. While I was in the Middle East being from Canada tended to elicit a slightly different response from people than that of my US friends. The Canadian government now stands as equals with the US and Israeli governments, shoulder to shoulder as you say, and their overall response to the murder in Gaza over the last month has made their own complicity in the death and destruction in Palestine complete. MECA has long provided medicines, nursery schools and playgrounds for the children of Palestine and sometimes has to rebuild these facilities after they have been destroyed by Israeli army criminals. MECA has become the primary source for my contributions. Whenever I receive a call from another organization asking for donations my response is that my money is now going to help the children of Gaza and the occupied territories. As Barbara, I am also Jewish and I am enraged over Israel's long term oppression of the Palestinians, their theft of Palestinian lands and their sense of entitlement that allows the Zionists to act as if the Palestinians were untermenschen. I have absolutely no doubt that the Israeli soldiers who murdered the five children committed this heinous crime. It would not be the first time that IDF thugs have deliberately killed children. And the fact that our Congress stands shoulder to shoulder with the Israeli crime machine makes Americans complicit in the murder of these children.
